Use Primary Home Expenses When Figuring Housing Allowance Exclusion
by: Vickey

You stumped me =) Personally, I would think that temporary housing would NOT be acceptable housing expense as you can only claim housing expenses on your "primary home".

Plus, you will have the renovating expenses going on at the same time, but I could not find anything on the IRS website to confirm or deny that assumption...so my answer is to take this to tax professional =)

Make sure they are very familiar with ministers and their unique situations.

I can recommend Corey Pfaffe, the Ministry CPA:https://www.ministrycpa.org/

Elaine Sommerville:https://www.nonprofit-tax.com/
