Retired at 48 from company then hired into full-time ministry.

I retired from a company at 48 then went into full time ministry. My question is since my church pays me a HA, and I draw a pension from this company, that if I claim HA on taxes that I can't claim house taxes and interest again on schedule A form when itemizing. Is that true?

Retired at 48 from a company. . .

If you are now a full-time ministry and you legally qualify for the Housing Allowance (IRS 107), I have never read anything about your previous employment pension adversely affecting it, that would include the double benefit that qualifying ministers receive on mortgage interest paid on their homes. However, I have never read anything about a double benefit to property taxes on your home when reading about the housing allowance. Hope this makes sense and helps.
