Pastor's Love Tokens

by Vanessa
(Chicago, IL USA)

Our Pastor has received over $1,000 this year in Love Tokens from members. They were all cash tokens that were given with the regular offerings, recorded and then give to the Pastor. Do I report this to the IRS as income for the pastor or just issue him a 1099? Not quite sure how to handle this.

Love offerings to ministers need to be added as income, https://www.freechurchaccounting.com/love_offerings.html or look to your left and click on "love offerings"
just add it to which ever income form used, W-2 or 1099 misc, not a separate form.
