It is necessary to account fully for all donations, not just some of them.

Regardless of the transaction being between two nonprofits, each nonprofit should have an accounting system exercising the principle of full disclosure of all transactions within their own set of books so to speak.

So, yes, it is necessary.

If you want to DIY your payroll, I highly recommend you look at using Gusto! It is very user friendly and their support is awesome! Plus they know how to set up and maintain payrolls for churches and nonprofit organizations.
