donors are customers and you track by entering a sales receipt for each person. If you do a search on google you should find a lot of "how to" on this.

I have been using quickbooks online for a couple years and have unknowingly been entering our church members giving under receive payments. That has in turn caused all of that giving to show under accounts receivable. I am trying to find out how to correct that to be entered under sales receipts which will then no longer be reported under accounts receivable.

Converting payments to receipts
by: Mike

Been a new and self taught user to (QB Online) I entered the members donations under payments. Which is now showing under my activity report as revenue. I need to convert the payments to receipt, but have not been able to figure out a way, other than to delete what already there, and entering the information again. Any Ideas??

If you want to DIY your payroll, I highly recommend you look at using Gusto! It is very user friendly and their support is awesome! Plus they know how to set up and maintain payrolls for churches and nonprofit organizations.

Note: I am a "partner" of Gusto, but as I have told you before ... I never recommend anything that we or our clients have not tried and love =)
