collecting SSDI and taking a Sr. Pastor Position do I have to report Housing allowance

I have been collecting SSDI for 20 years, I have Muscular Dystrophy, I was asked to take over as Sr. Pastor of a small church.

The church wants to pay my rent, Do I have to claim this as income to SSDI. and what IRS forms do I if any have to fill out for the Church for the IRS regardless whether I take the Housing Allowance.

Consult a Knowledgeable Tax Professional

I am not knowledgeable on how a housing allowance will affect your SSDI.

Please consult a knowledgeable tax professional such as Elaine Sommerville with nonprofit-tax.com or the ministry CPA at ministrycpa.org/ ... type a www before each web address.

Make sure the church sets up the housing allowance properly ...if that is the route you take =)

If you want to DIY your payroll, I highly recommend you look at using Gusto! It is very user friendly and their support is awesome! Plus they know how to set up and maintain payrolls for churches and nonprofit organizations.

Note: I am a "partner" of Gusto, but as I have told you before ... I never recommend anything that we or our clients have not tried and love =)
