Charging Overhead to Non-Profits

by Bill
(Dallas, Texas)

We house several non-profit organizations in our facilities, and we process contributions and expenses for them. We are looking for an easy, fair, and equitable way to charge each group for both their space (square footage) and overhead for processing their finances. Suggestions?

I think it would be best to call a realtor for your area that specializes in rentals. It would give you an honest starting point and what you actually charge would not have to be the "going rate" if your church feels it is to high.

If you want to DIY your payroll, I highly recommend you look at using Gusto! It is very user friendly and their support is awesome! Plus they know how to set up and maintain payrolls for churches and nonprofit organizations.

Note: I am a "partner" of Gusto, but as I have told you before ... I never recommend anything that we or our clients have not tried and love =)
