Business Sponsorship Tax Deductible?

by Christina

Our church is holding a concert and wants to ask businesses to sponsor the concert. Would the business' contribution be tax deductible? For example if the business donates $300 we will print the name of the business on the concert tickets. The tickets would then be free.

Business sponsorship tax deductible?

The church should give the business a receipt and not worry about tax deductibility. All business expenses are tax deductible because all business expenses reduce net income for the year.

If you want to DIY your payroll, I highly recommend you look at using Gusto! It is very user friendly and their support is awesome! Plus they know how to set up and maintain payrolls for churches and nonprofit organizations.

Note: I am a "partner" of Gusto, but as I have told you before ... I never recommend anything that we or our clients have not tried and love =)
