Every year my pastor gets $7,000.00 as a gift from the church. Is this money reportable to IRS by both my church and the pastor?

Yes it would be taxable income to your pastor and would need to be included in box 1 of his W-2.

It would need to be reported in your accounting records for the church, but a church does not report to the IRS its income and expenses.

If you want to DIY your payroll, I highly recommend you look at using Gusto! It is very user friendly and their support is awesome! Plus they know how to set up and maintain payrolls for churches and nonprofit organizations.

Note: I am a "partner" of Gusto, but as I have told you before ... I never recommend anything that we or our clients have not tried and love =)
