What is the average severance pay for an assistant pastor that worked for 2 1/2 years, that is laid off due to church's financial situation and the economy? Thank you.

Severance pay

My guess is that statistics of this nature are not kept anywhere. A suggestion would be to pay the person being laid off one month's salary for each year of service, so in the case you describe the payment would be equal to 2 1/2 months of salary.

Average severance per my experience is one week per year of service subject to a minimum (such as 1 month) and a maximum (usually 6 or 12 months)
