Restricted vs Unrestricted-Monetary Restricted

Several years ago our Fall Festival Committee used funds raised at the Fall Festival to purchase "Balcony" chairs. Session has recently decided it would be beneficial to move these chairs to the sanctuary floor and move the pews to the balcony. There is a concern that some of the funds used may have been restricted funds and we may be illegally moving this chairs from their original purpose. Would any one be able to provide some insight? Much Appreciated.

Balcony Chairs

It sounds as though the original restricted funds were used for the "Balcony Chairs" or seating for the balcony as necessary. If pews would work better as seating now and those chairs are needed in the sanctuary and the majority of the admin. board and building trustees agree, then there should be no problem.
