Do we give an end of the year statement to everyone or just the people who gave over a certain limit? For example what if someone gives $40 for the whole year do we send them an end of the year statement like someone who gave $4,000?
Answer
That is up to your church’s policy. In my church, we have index cards in with our contribution envelopes; in which, members can check that they do need a contribution receipt this year and instructions to just drop the card in the offering container.
You still need to track and record everyone’s donations; however, the person who gave $40 may not need or want a contribution receipt.
Some send them out to all their donors...just to thank them for their support no matter how much it was.
Hope this helps,

If you want to DIY your payroll, I highly recommend you look at using Gusto! It is very user friendly and their support is awesome! Plus they know how to set up and maintain payrolls for churches and nonprofit organizations.
Note: I am a "partner" of Gusto, but as I have told you before ... I never recommend anything that we or our clients have not tried and love =)
