does a church member have to use a CID # for tithes?
Does a church member have to use a CID# for tithes each week, for tax purposes? (contribution identification number ) Is this a new law? If so when does it go into effect?
Answer I have not heard anything about it. I do not believe it is a law in the United States. I know “for right now” a social security number or any other id number for donors is not required. I have heard that that is a real possibility in the future, but not right now. Using a CID# or not would be up to individual churches and their policies in the US.
