are there restrictions on church to church contributions

Are there any special rules for contributions that are given to, or received from, another church? Specifically if a church is liquidating. This is assuming we are talking about contributions in the five- to six-figure range and all parties have 501c3 determination letters.

Contributions to one church from another
by: Vickey

I don't believe there would be any issues with the "receiving" church...but the closing church should seek the advice of a professional to make sure all is done correctly in the closing.

I can highly recommend the CPA Firm: Batts Morrison Wales & Lee https://nonprofitcpa.com/

I strongly encourage them to take some of the funds they have left and protect them and the receiving church....before turning those contributions over.
