% of budget is average?. . .

As I give more thought to your question, you would get a better answer for your question by "googling" the question, since the answer above is not an average but only the amount for one church.

Maintenance and repairs. . .
by: Lewis in NC

Repairing buildings is rather clear and specific enough, but maintenance of building could be a broad reference that might include fire insurance, heating/cooling, lights, inspections of fire systems/equipment, phones, alarms, etc. Assuming a more narrow perspective that excludes the larger budget items mentioned to maintain a building, our building repair budget line item is approx. 1.4% of our $276,000 operating total. ($4000/$276000 = 1.5%)

If you want to DIY your payroll, I highly recommend you look at using Gusto! It is very user friendly and their support is awesome! Plus they know how to set up and maintain payrolls for churches and nonprofit organizations.

Note: I am a "partner" of Gusto, but as I have told you before ... I never recommend anything that we or our clients have not tried and love =)
