We displayed poinsettia's in our church this past Christmas season. Church members wrote a check out to the church, the church then turned around and sent all the money it received for the poinsettia's to the florist. Is this a tax deduction for the donor?
thanks.

If there is a line item in your church budget for flowers, then it could be a tax deductible donation. Especially if the flowers were given to the sick or shut-ins immediately after Christmas. People are not suppose to claim a tax deductible donation to the church if they get something tangible in return--such as flowers. Hope this helps.
