I have been the pastor at my church for a little over a year. I recently discovered that we have not been issuing W-2's to the pastor or our musicians.
What is the best way to remedy this situation now? I began asking for a w-2 form and have realized there were deadlines for filing things that have already passed this year. Please advise if possible.

I would need to know a little more details before I could offer any advice. Has your church been sending in payroll taxes on a IRS 941 form?
If you have...you may need to consult a CPA on this issue.

didn't issue w-2 to minister

My situation is similar. I am an ordained minister and started a small church a few years ago. I just started to get paid from last October. Then recently I realized we didn't issue w-2. Should I file a late w-2 with fines from SSA and IRS, or consider myself self-employed?
