housing allowance is more than pastor earned this year

I'm a noobie on this stuff but it seems that Housing Allowance greater than salary becomes excess reportable income if not used. Documentation, keeping receipts would be required here in either case of excess of salary or less than salary.

I know this is old, but thought I'd check on it anyways; wouldn't box 14 just be 21,250 or the total 24,000, and box 1 be 0, given it all fell within the housing allowance — thus no "real salary" was made.

I am assuming you paid him $21,250.00 in "wages" AND $24,000.00 in housing allowance payments.

If so the $21,250.00 will be reported in Box 1 of his w-2 and the $24,000.00 in Box 14.
