My salary is 15,000 a year. I know my housing allowance is going to be more than that. My mortgage alone is about 18,000. I guess my question is can I just designate the entire 15,000 for mortgage?

Previous comment that its to late to create a housing allowance...please explain..wouldnt that be past rental payments,gas logs,past travel logs etc..

Hope you are talking about the upcoming 2015 tax year instead of 2014. It is too late to talk about creating a housing allowance for 2014.

Your church can designate and approve your entire salary as a housing allowance. However, remember that a housing allowance cannot be retroactive, so the 100% designation can only be from the day it is board approved.
