We now have several years accounting records/bank ledger docs. It has become very cumbersome. I would like to delete all but the prior year accounting records. How can this be done other than 1 entry at a time?
My hope would be to revamp the categories to start a new year as there have been many changes in our accounts.

Deleting past year's accounting???

Accounting records for a public non-profit church or organization should never be deleted. They should be archived for needed reference. If your church is growing, or if you are moving toward a more complex accounting system, the church may have to investigate a more sophisticated computer system and software to accommodate your new needs--one that will separate and store each year.
If you still can use a simple accounting system as you are describing, then maybe you can get the board to approve just a hard copy printout of everything so far before deleting and starting over. That could work. But never just delete everything in past years. Law requires keeping records anywhere from 5 to 7 years. Historical concerns would require keeping every year's records.
