Biblical Counseling

I am a Biblical Counselor(BA in Christian Counseling/Theology) and I want to counsel (payments are by donations only)under the umbrella of my church (I choose not to purse secular licensing) but we don't have a 501c3 can I still counsel? If so, if people pay me with a check does it have to be written out to the church or how does it work?

Private counseling, public church and money involved--sounds like (to me) the church might need to talk to an attorney before engaging in this arrangement.

If you want to DIY your payroll, I highly recommend you look at using Gusto! It is very user friendly and their support is awesome! Plus they know how to set up and maintain payrolls for churches and nonprofit organizations.

Note: I am a "partner" of Gusto, but as I have told you before ... I never recommend anything that we or our clients have not tried and love =)
