Opting out

Reasons for opting out of SSI must be because you have a religious objection to the government taking SSI money from your pastoral salary and collecting on it.
I opted out and put money into my roth IRA.

Please consult a good CPA on the issue but if you choose to opt out, do it quickly because there is a time limit that you are in your position to do so. <><

If you want to DIY your payroll, I highly recommend you look at using Gusto! It is very user friendly and their support is awesome! Plus they know how to set up and maintain payrolls for churches and nonprofit organizations.

Note: I am a "partner" of Gusto, but as I have told you before ... I never recommend anything that we or our clients have not tried and love =)
