Including Dues Wages on the W-2?

by Bruce
(Rockingham)

Are dues wages on the minister's W-2?

Answer

I found this on About.com "Understanding Form W-2:

Your employer may report additional tax information in Box 14. If any amounts are reported, they will have a brief description of what the amounts are for.

For example, union dues, employer-paid tuition assistance, health insurance premiums you paid, or after-tax contributions to a retirement plan will be reported here.

So it is my understanding that you could report professional dues paid by the church for their minister that was included in their wages in Box 14 of their W-2.

If anyone has any comments on this subject...please chime in...do you include dues paid on your minister's W-2?
