If I opted out can I still get benefits if I pay on my non ministerial income?

If I opted out can I still get benefits if I pay on my non ministerial income?

I was only a few credits away from being eligible for Social Security benefits when I opted out.

Can I accrue the remaining credits by paying as security tax on non ministerial income and then receive my benefits for what I have already paid in?

May I still get benefits?

It makes common sense to me that you would still get benefits when you qualify for them on your non-ministerial income. Call the Social Security Administration and ask them and let us know what you find out.
